Hello. I kill Dean Hall zombie with spear in hands, a eat his Kiwi from his body while i have spear in hands, i inspect the kiwi in my hand slot and look what i get :

Idk if this is part of the dean hall zombie easter egg or its some bug. It has probably inscept info about matches .
1.Kill zombie with spear:put food or drink into zombie inventory
2.Put random item into oyur hands
3.Press Eat / Drink on item in infected
4.Rightclick on your item in your hands
5.Wait before item changes (you will get random items into oyur hands back and food/drink will disapear)
6.After they change press Inspect

We have tried to reproduce the issue you have described but unfortunately we could not reproduce the said issue. Can you try to find couple more Dean zombies and let us know if you have / havent encountered the issue again?

Okey i try it again and i found it works with every food or drink and it doesnt care if it is deanhall zombie or other one. You need to press right click, wait before the items change, and then press inscpet on nonexist item. I have a video tutorial for u. :)
