When I shot a gun the sound is quite muted, and everything around is muted too.
The same happens when hitting an infected with something, only the hit sound is heard and the rest goes down.
Sometimes after killing an infected I still get the sound of him hitting me until I relog.

Do you by any chance have something such as loudness equalisation enabled in your sound card driver? Can you try to reset your sound card driver settings to default and let us know if the issue still persists?

Yeah, I have it enabled, I turned it off and the sound works fine, but then I can't hear the game at all lol
