Constant crash on startup: 0x00000001 – UNABLE_TO_INIT_DXGI

Description

I am currently unable to play Arma 3, as whenever i launch the game from the launcher, it crashes to the point where i need to use task manager to force-close it.
It crashes in various ways, although they all result in the game loading and then going to a black screen, the furthest I've gotten is to the main menu for a split-second, and then it went to black screen.

After force-closing the game I get an error log with the following error:
0x00000001 – UNABLE_TO_INIT_DXGI

However this is a recent issue, normally my game works flawlessly.
No mods were used, it is the base-game.

Steps To Reproduce

Start up the game.

Additional Information

I haven't installed any sort of mods, driver updates etc. since then, all I've installed since is microsoft word.

I have also gone to steam and verified integrity of the game files, no problems were found.
I also tried to remove the Arma3.cfg file from the documents folder, although that didn't help either.

  • Sometimes steam also crashes without notice when this happens. Though not always.

@CalvinC, could you use the Arma 3 Launcher to prepare a troubleshooting report and then upload the report to the feedback tracker for the developers to review?

For issues regarding Arma 3 you can file a troubleshooting report, also via an action available in the option menu in the upper right corner (gear icon)

Be sure to upload the whole report file. If the report file will not upload directly to the feedback tracker then try uploading to a free file sharing service such as Dropbox, Microsoft OneDrive, Google Drive, Mega.nz, and so forth, and then link to the report file.

Here is possible solution that could resolve your problem:

0x00000001 – UNABLE_TO_INIT_DXGI
The game is unable to initialize a graphical subsystem. Possible solutions:

  • Update the graphics card drivers to a newer version.
  • Rollback the graphics card drivers to an older version.
  • Check the temperature of your GPUs and CPUs.
  • Disable the Steam Overlay.

Can I have some crash report from you, plz?

Tried all that, still no joy.
