Bear traps not working as intended

Description

When activating bear traps your character immediately gets hurt regardless how far away you are.
And by hurt I mean he gets a sprained ankle but receives no damage to blood, health or inventory.
Even though you can get rid of the sprained ankle status message your character doesn't stop moaning randomly which can be extremely annoying (and loud).

No animation is played on your character or the bear trap when activating it.

I tried activating a bear trap that was lying around. I never put it into my hands.

Hello Gekker and thank you for the report.
We have confirmed all the issues with the exception of " When activating bear traps your character immediately gets hurt regardless how far away you are ". Would it be possible for you to make a video of the issue once you find a bear trap?

I will when I encounter it again. However I have taken a screenshot that may help in the meantime.


This is how I found the beartrap. Inside of the one story hospital north of elektro. There was a open door between the beartrap and me. I stepped back through the door after encountering it undeployed and activated it. My screen flashed and my character moaned. Then I stepped even further back to try agian and the same happened.
The screenshot showed the final distance if I remember it all right.

The traps definitely should not activate at the distance from your screenshot, we will look into the issue and let you know in case we find something.
