Game can't crash with/without mods - error 0x00000056
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

So I hopped on to play some arma today and couldn't find a server with my added weapons. Due to this, I backed out and tried to use the option to run the game without mods. Now, I constantly get an error and cannot launch the game. Any help?

@Criseist, have you tried verifying the integrity of the game cache?

Can you confirm that it is reproducible? That is to say launching without mods always causes this issue and launching with mods is okay.

Would you be able to switch to the profiling branch or development branch and try again? If the issue persists then please prepare and upload a new troubleshooting report for the developers to take a look at. Note that using the development branch can require large and frequent updates so only use if you have the bandwidth to spare.

profiling branch (special performance + profiling build - requires access code: CautionSpecialProfilingAndTestingBranchArma3), alternative download of needed binary possible from Dwarden's dropbox

@Jawsh According to steam, all files are successfully validated. I need to sleep, So, I'll check on the development beta as soon as I can. Thank you for the quick response.

It doesn't run at all, mods or not. I am not sure what went wrong, so I can't exactly help others replicate it, but all crashes have the same exit code, so I'm assuming it's one problem.

@Criseist, I believe that @razazel wants you to try the possible solutions for 0xC0000005 - ACCESS_VIOLATION because they may help with 0x00000056.

@Jawish So developer version launches completely fine, no idea why.

Could you prepare and attach a troubleshooting report? The developers may be able to find the issue when comparing reports from the stable branch with the dev branch.

My bad @Jawish. Thanks for clarifying. I'll try to follow 0x00000005.

Also, I thought I had uploaded the report to the original post. Is that the wrong document?

The recent update seem sto have fixed the issue, thank you all for the help.
