Not sure what it is exactly related to but it is the button that appears whenever a Steam friend plays DayZ Standalone and the "join game" button appears in the chat.

Does the issue occur when the friend is in the server queue or does the issue occur also when the friend is on the server already?

The button appears only when a friend is in a server. My guess is that the button does not recognize the new queue system and still uses the old way of joining.
