Crashing at Server Browser Menu
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

I was able to join a couple of games just fine, but as of tonight every time I go to the server browser screen from main menu; my video card crashes and the .exe dumps. I tried a bunch of fixes including updating my video card drivers to no avail. Trying a full redownload/install of the client now and will update with how that turns out for me.
Edit: Still crashing at the same screen even after redownloading/reinstalling the game. It crashes even if I click play on the main menu.

Trying to access the server browser from main menu will crash the game every time.

Additional Information

Tried updating drivers, and reinstalling the game; both failed to solve the issue. This is strange because as of yesterday I was able to access the server browser with no problems; and I changed no system settings since that time.

Hello Mycelium and thank you for the report.
Can you try to delete the contents of C:\Users\*username*\Documents\DayZ, then run the experimental client and let us know if the issue still persists?
Regards,
Geez

Heya Geez,

I just tried your fix of deleting the contents of the C:\Users\*username*\Documents\DayZ folder, and it seems to have fixed my issue. I tried for about 10 minutes to recreate the crash and to my delight it has totally stopped! Thanks for the help!

Weird, as of just now I'm again experiencing the crash; and the fix is no longer helping :/

Hello Mycelium.
Please upload the contents of your C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Local\DayZ (it is not the same folder as the one with config files) to some kind of cloud site from which we can easily download the files.
Regards,
Geez

Thank you.
By any chance, are you running the game with any startup parameters, such as -olduilobby? And do you have any filters saved in the browser?
Regards,
Geez

I have 0 startup parameters currently, and the only server filter I have currently is for ping. When the client randomly works and allows me to view the server list, trying to turn off/change this ping filter parameter in any way will cause the same type of crash.

Hello Mycelium.
Can you try deleting the C:\Users\*username*\Documents\DayZ again and let us know if the issue occurs also on the current experimental version? There have been some improvements which might have fixed the issue.
Regards,
Geez

Hey Geez,

After some extensive testing this week I can safely say that this problem has been resolved by the latest patch. Thank you so much for your persistence in helping me :)
