There are two log cabins in the game that have fireplaces. The two room log cabin which has the fireplace in the bedroom will not allow me to place the fire start kit in the fireplace.
I have tested this in two of these buildings, neither of them gave me the option to place it.
The single room cabin fireplace works fine.
Craft fire start kit, move fire kit to hands, stand in front of Fireplace and locate the "Place" option. It does not appear in the two room cabin with the fireplace in the bedroom. Only the option to place it on the ground appears.
