When looking at a gas map you only see a slight illumination effect on the glass, but if you remove the gas lamp from direct view, you can see the light it is emitting as normal.

Steps To Reproduce
Drop a gas lamp, turn it on, look right at it, no light, now pan right until it is off screen and you should see its light appear.

Can confirm this is a glitch. The light also only appears if you walk far away or throw it in the air, but it's very glitchy...
