[DayZ .61 Experimental] Player position stutters while entering some buildings, approaching some walls or opening doors
Assigned, NormalPublic

Description

Hello devs & community,

A little bug report on player position. Have been playing experimental yesterday, I got to say server stability is much better. However, I have noticed some stutters related to player position. When trying to enter some houses through normal sized doors, the position might stutter and I would have to retry to enter the house sometimes up to 10 times.

The same happened to me near some low walls on both side of Zeleno's main road. My guess is that the player position can't determine whether or not the player is in front of the door or just running against a wall.

I had this other bug that might be related to it, when trying to open a door, another door next to it might open instead.

If I got time, I'll upload my videos on YT and post them here.

EDIT : FYI, I doubt it's on my side. I got fiber optics and not more than 20 to 50ms on EU Experimental servers.

Hello Tartine and thank you for the report.
Does the issue you are experiencing look like this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWQ1PWl7MMg&feature=youtu.be&t=4m16s

Geez

A little bit, that's the spirit.

However, these short and repetitive rollbacks I've encountered while entering some buildings are stronger, sometimes up to 1m rollback.

I can't play right now but I'll have an experimental session on Monday and I'll film everything. If something comes up again, I'll cut it and post it on Youtube, then post a link here.

Thank you for your work !

So this is it :

By the time I post this, the videos are processing. I hope it will be done soon.

Bug 1 (player position stuttering) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sw9sg8g2bMg
Bug 2 (another door opens when I try to open one) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYMmkkvSS2A

I encountered the first bug only twice, so it's getting better. Hope you'll be able to reproduce the issue and fix it !

EDIT : After discussing the issue with a friend and watching a bunch of streams, it looks like Bug 1 is due to the door being closed server side and displayed open client side.

Thanks for the amazing job, the version is getting enjoyable.

Hello and thank you.
We are currently testing the door related issues internally and the information from your videos will certainly be helpful.

Hello Tartine.
Have you experienced the issue with player character being unable to pass through door that are visually open on any of the recent experimental versions?

Geez
