Memory Application Error
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Hi,

I've been getting this Memory Application Error since a few weeks ago. It started happening when I bought a new video card (Galax NVIDIA GTX 1060). But the system is clean (recently formatted) and all drivers are up-to-date.

It usually seems to happen when I'm joining a server and I ALT+TAB the game when it's still loading the map. But I need to know if it's a hardware issue or a game issue, as I've seen more people complaining about the same errors.

I checked Arma 3's wiki and, so far, I've done the following steps:

Try joining another server, then rejoin the previous one. (OK)
Update the graphics card drivers to a newer version. (OK)
Rollback the graphics card drivers to an older version. (OK)
Check the temperature of your GPUs and CPUs. (OK)
Verify the integrity of the game cache using Steam. (OK)
Re-install DirectX. (OK)
Uninstall the Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable package (x86 version), restart your computer and install the package again (do not use the Repair function). (OK)
Run a Windows System File Check tool to repair corrupted system files. (OK)

The errors occur occasionally. More info can be found here: https://forums.bistudio.com/topic/194419-memory-application-error

Hope to get a quick answer, since I'm running out of warranty-period.

Thanks!

Hello,

thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately I am unable to get to the report file as it was marked as malicious. Would you mind uploading it again or try to use different free file sharing service?

Thanks

Support told me to disable launching parameters. But they're important for my game optimization. Either way, SEEMS like setting 'System memory limit' from 4096 MB to 2097 MB has made the errors disappear (at least for now). But I still need more testing to confirm that.

May you give me a hand?

Thanks!

Hmmm, I have checked the report and it seems game has also trouble creating the mdmp. Report states it was not able to create the file completely. Do you have any other mdmp files present or only the arma3_2016-09-28_20-28-16.mdmp one?

Well, it seems like the problem's came back again. I'll be uploading the most recent report/mdmp.

Did you try using default malloc?

Yes, I think so. Right now I'll try using tbbmalloc and see how things go.

Do you think it's still hardware-related issue?

Thanks, will look into those :)

Hi,

Any news on this?

Thanks!

Files were analysed, fix is in progress, unfortunately that is as much as I know at the moment.

Hi,

Thank you so much for that. Can you confirm me it's not hardware related then?

Seems like it got fixed. Thanks for all the help!
