Description

Every time when I shoot my fps drop down to 5-6 FPS.

Every time when I shoot in scope mode (LPRS ACOG DMS AMS and other) my FPS drop down about 10-15 FPS.

10-12 FPS drop when look at smoke from smoke granade

no fps drop when shooting with scope zoomed right at my player feet.

-NO FPS DROP WHEN EQUIP SUPPRESSOR

for ex
pistols - 1 FPS
Vermin- 8FPS
SPMG .338 15-FPS

I spent about 100 tests and I think found what causes fps drop.
FPS drop due to barrel smoke effect when shooting. especially in zoom scope mode

pistols - 1 FPS
Vermin- 8FPS

Latest arma3 stabile with all DLC. No mods.
i7-3610QM Quad-core 2.3GHz Processor Nvidia GeForce GTX 770M 3gb Ram-6gb

This 95% after Apex.
found that double optics scopes (i meant close combat sight and zoom 2 in 1 like ACOG) make more FPS drop 20-25. Sometimes LPRS SOS MOS make 1-2 FPS drop..

what is your view distance setting ?

try all settings. 100/100/100
12000/12000/100 and many many variants.

Hi, @RichPeach

This have to do with spending your video memory . I recommend you to open Task Manager and close all obsolete processes in background.
Next, set your game resolution as same as your display, standard refresh rate and so on.

You can try to go C:\Users\*username*\Documents\Arma 3\Arma 3.cfg
There are these two vaules.

GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1000;
GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=3;

You can try to change 1000 to 1 and 3 to 0. It would makes a better performance. I warn, this solution is not absolutely functional for some players.
