Eden does not determine automaticaly the squad leaders correctly (via rank)
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

We all remember the old editor. The old editor is always was able identified the squad leaders, always automatically and always correctly. The game will automatically identify the squad leader according to the highest rank.
In EDEN, this feature was forgotten.

EDEN is not able to determine the commander automatically, using the highest rank.
In the EDEN, the unit of private rank can to command a captain! Any high rank can be subordinate to low-rank! This is not possible in real life. Also, if player will use waypoints - Join & Join and Lead, then the game does not correctly identifies commanders. It adds confusion and glitches.

Please teach EDEN to correctly identify the commanders, as it did the old editor.

Hi,

3d EDEN Editor uses different way to determine who is squad leader than old editor. It´s not just about the rank now, but you have to set leader rank manually.

Right click on the unit who have to be a leader>Transform>Set as Group Leader.

@Alwin
When a player, by means editor adds new units to to existing allied units, then this unit should automatically join to nearby commanders (ranked higher than this unit). However, in the EDEN, it so happens that a higher rank joins the low rank! I don't know for what reason private soldier will command over a Lieutenant or more higher rank? This in real life may not be!

The editor must determine the highest rank automatically. And it's not my personal desire. This feature has always existed (in the old editor) since times of Operation Flashpoint! But after the release of EDEN, this feature has been successfully broken.

Hi,

Eden editor has many changes against old editor. Your notice is correct and have a sense. But old version had a less background functions than new version which is a little bit demanding. Some correction should break a few scripts that works fine now. Possibility to set squad leader by player is still here via Transform function and it was decided that remains stable.

Thank you for understanding.

Thanks for your attention
