Description

I haven't played DayZ in a couple of weeks. When I tried to yesterday it didn't start. When I try to run it from Steam it seems to start:

  • After starting the game the Steam-starting game-dialog shows,
  • My Steam status goes to in game DayZ,
  • In the Processes section of my task manager are two DayZ-processes, DayZ.exe*32 and DayZ_BE.exe*32.

But the game never shows up on the screen.
When I try to run DayZ from its own .exe-file instead of starting it in Steam I get an error message saying that DayZ is unable to locate a running instance of Steam. But the two DayZ-processes in my task manager show up anyway.
Running it as an administrator or reinstalling the game doesn't make a difference.

Little update: When I leave the processes running the game does actually start after about 15 to 20 minutes.
I can play now but a 20min starting time is still an issue.

Hello MikeMacho.
Have you tried verifying the game cache in Steam and running the game as admin? Are you running any startup parameters? (If so, try removing these as we do not support them and they cause various issues within the game). Also, if possible, please upload your dxdiag file to this ticket.

Hey Geez, thanks for the quick reply!
I didn't try verifying the game cache until now, but it didn't change anything. I did try run the game as admin but it didn't work.
I do not run any startup parameters and I never did.
When I played the game last time two or three weeks ago everything worked fine and now, without changing anything, the game takes 15 to 20 minutes to start.

Yes, that is the correct file. If it is possible, can you also send us the .RPT file from C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Local\DayZ ?

Estou com o mesmo problema desse rapaz ( MikeMacho ), Meu arma 3 não quer abrir, já tentei abrir como administrador, e tudo mais.. só que ao contrario dele, o meu parou de funcionar de uma hora para outra... aqui está o arquivos que você pediu para o mesmo rapaz.

I don't have the issue anymore. I reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled windows and all the drivers for some other reason. since then DayZ worked fine again.
Sorry that I didn't post here, that the issue has been resolved, I totally forgot about it.
