Snare traps for catching rabbits lay flat on the ground instead of sticking upright as they are intended to.
Sometimes this results in the snare trap being underground entirely and not visible or retrievable.

place a snare trap
notice it is laying flat or be unable to see it entirely because it is laying flat.
you can still catch rabbits this way, but when you actually catch a rabbit it should remain dead in your snare for much longer than it currently does.
