The V-44 can NOT enter shallow waters, the Y-32 is more lenient in this regard.

V-44 should actually be able to go deeper than Y-32 since the Y-32 can have the cockpit flooded (which should not make it explode by the way). But the V-44 cockpit is very high up and the engines as well.
