Good riddance, that thing was just an exploit at night times. If you have problems with gamma and brightness, you may set those through windows or other programs. If calibrating the monitor or through windows isn't enough, I recommend getting a new monitor for your system.

Morgow sometimes don't work the slider in-game... I fixed it everytime by going out of game (Alt+tab) and joining back.

Yes, many people enjoy it by playing at night and have disadvantage to people who are using the gamma settings, flashlight is useless.. My suggestion is to be blocked the gamma settings on time in-game.. when the server is going in night the gamma and brightness should be blocked and set to default and in the morning to be unblocked. From 20:00 to 06:00 or something like this..
