Instead of viewing the command center when I start playing the game, I get what appears to be a view of the grey Martian atmosphere. When I try to move into a room, it just pans around the atmosphere. If I test a spacecraft, everything is grey. Essentially, I cannot see anything when playing this game but the functions still appear to work. It also requires two tries for anything to happen (e.g. press any key to continue, go to lab).

All I have done to the game was run FRAPS with it to check my framerate and have ensured that it runs on my dedicated graphics (Nvidia GT 630M). It was originally set to integrated (HD 3000).
I've reinstalled the game multiple times. The only time where I can actually see the command center is when I skip time, but then it fades back to the gray screen as shown.

This happens to me as well, funnily enough I accidentally "alt-tabbed" out of the game (when you have two monitor setup and you move the mousepointer out from the primary monitor from the right edge the game "alt-tabs" itself. Perhaps worth of it's own ticket..) and activated the game again -> pressed 'go to lab' but nothing happened.
Alt-tabbed and went back in, that caused the camera to go black for a while, then suddenly the camera was moving in some corridor then suddenly froze, alt-tabbed and went back in again, camera was in black again but after a short while suddenly the lab appeared..
EDIT:
This doesn't stop me from playing, 'go to map' works just fine. Returning from Mars to the control rooom (F1) sometimes works but usually it brings up either an image like the one attached to this ticket, or otherwise similar but you see the corridor leading to the lab on the right edge of the image (from quite far away). Sometimes it's Mars scene with missing sky and ground, only some rock formations..
On initial install of the game I had this issue, updated the drivers for my nvidia
GeForce GT 320M, no troubles after that, other than it feels slow on the user interface side of things.
This issue is related to an existing one (0000042: 3d resolution scale).
Try changing the Resolution Scale setting in the option to see if that gets rid of the problem.
That does fix the issue, but it's something that should definitely be addressed before the game makes it out of beta.
It will be addressed of course. I will close this report as it is a duplicate of the one I mentioned earlier. You can follow the progress on the issue there.
