CLick your inventory open and run through building to see items on different floors. You need to be right below or above the item to see it.

Additional Information

Not sure how many floors you can see above or below. This applies in 0.59 exp too.

I noticed this when I dropped a gun on the second floor, I looked at it on the floor after I dropped so it was actually on the 2nd floor, then I went down stairs and pressed tab on a corner and I was able to loot the gun.
