After you climbed down a ladder, you have a chance to get stuck in the climbing animation, others can see you climbing around like a fool but for you it's normal. You need to reconnect to fix the bug.
This happened to some friends of mine sometimes (youtube video linked below). I believe there's a whole problem with the animation, because my friend, before climbing, was stuck in the crouch animation, we saw him sliding around while crouched but for him it was all normal with the walking. Another one was sliding standing still.
