Game failing to load properly .58 / .59 exp
Assigned, WishlistPublic

Description

Today after the small update was downloaded and installed, I was unable to load the game properly. Battle Eye loads and then the game attempts to load with no success. There is no error message associated. Steam shows DayZ running, but windows shows no .exe file.
I've been trying various methods to solve this issue with no luck. It looks like there is a group of people on the dayz reddit with the same problems.

I have same problem. I run Windows 7 Professional N, SP1 on AMD FX-6300, Radeon HD7850 1GB(driver ver. 15.20.1062.1003-150728a1-187447C)

Same problem for me.

Windows 7 Home Premium, I7-4790k, GTX 980 TI, 16GB RAM

Originally happened on latest nVidia Drivers 359.00 but rolled back to previous version 358.91 but still unable to launch DayZ.

Game says running in Steam. When entering Task Manager, DayZ32.exe process cannot be ended. Battleye.exe can however.

When this issue occurs, computer performance degrades and cannot fully shutdown computer - requires Hard Reboot.

Edit: FYI I do not have Avast anti-virus installed (only Windows Security Essentials) and this error still occurs. Disabled all anti-virus and ran both .exe files as Windows XP compatability mode and still not working.

Same problem.
I go to my steam library.
Click Dayz.
A black command prompt window opens (loading BE).
Wait.
Windows disappears.
Wait. Wait.
Nothing happens.
I check windows task manager and I see
Dayz.exe *32 memory usage 180k
Dayz_BE.exe *32 memory usage 1,584
I try to shut down both processes, and computer begins to freeze.

same issue for me

GTX 760
I5-4570 @3.2ghz

Windows 7

I've tried a fresh install, removing and replacing BE, tried on two hard drives. I shut down my PC this morning and it was still shutting down when i got in from work 9 hours later so something must be hanging the shutdown process.

Same over here, too.

.. it doesnt come up any more.

... im playing experimental and did a small patch fix yesterday because i kept getting refused to go on any servers.

there is a dayz.exe process that is left there in the task list but i cant kill it ..it even hangs on shutting down so i need to do a hard reboot.

updated gfx drivers ..cleared cache ..downgraded to non experimental....cleared dayz locally and reinstalled .... same problem persists!!!

Update, I have Avast virus scanner. I had to uninstall it (Disabling does not work), once uninstalled and rebooted, I was able to lunch the game. A temporary fix until they figure something out.

yes you are right ..somehow disabling avast is not the same as uninstalling it.

Can confirm it doesn't work with Avast installed

Win7 64bit ultimate
i5 3.4ghz
16gb ram
evga gtx970ftw

Started after Dayz 0.59 exp update #3 - no problems before that.

Installed Avast again. Until this is fixed, guess I'll just have to play one of the other games that doesn't have this problem..

it does . For me at least .. :(((

I'm still having a similar issue as of latest update 0.59.130612

Game doesn't crash but BattlEye fails to update. https://i.imgur.com/p5JSsBL.png

Win7 Ultimate 64 bit
AVG Antivirus Free Edition

^ you can try and update it manually . I think you are in a better position :P

This issue has been resolved for me.

@ VaTiS: Resolved with the EXP update made a couple of days ago to address Windows 7 users. I re-ran experimental after the update and battle eye updated fine and launched the game.

Hello again.
In case you are still experiencing the issue with BattlEye not updating properly, you can try switching to stable and back. In case that does not resolve the issue, contact BE support at http://www.battleye.com/support/.

Geez

^ I was running exp. when this first happened. Went back to stable still happened. After that i reinstalled steam and dayz . Still trying in stable but nothing happens. Last night i updated vcredist etc and then browsed local files . I tried to launch from the there and I had the error with unable to locate steam or smthing like that... Rebooted validated nothing still crashes.

f..k that man im so disappointed :/ i m always updating and reinstalling things and nothing happens..

I DID ITTTTT !!!212412 I ran vcredist_86x in 2010 folder and chose to remove it . Then ran again to reinstall and TADAAAA ! omgggg

I have this problem again with the new experimental - battleeye updated itself but dayz wont run, it just consumes ram (somewhere around 130kB) and is running like 4 instances - SOLVED for me by removing Batleeye folders and then checking integrity of the game
