as the title says: very often it happens to be that i have no more space left in my inventory however hold something in my hands (e.g. a rifle or a melee weapon; something that normally sits in your backpack or in other slots). As soon as i need to e.g. eat/drink something i have to put the object down (if it can't go back automatically in your inventory and lands in the vicinity window).
As i keep all my weapons, food, water, bandages in my hotbar i immediately lose my weapon from there because of the procedure mentioned above although i am going to pick it up afterwards anyway.
so my proposal:
- add a short timer (30s or so or even an option in the menu ;) ) to let lost items slowly fade away from the hotbar; or any other indication but not just remove it immediately
- i know that we had the other approach (keep item although lost) at one point, but the best thing would be the best from both worlds imo.
