Despite sitting by fire for about 5 minutes in a building, fully dry and clothed, and having blood (colors still present), just died of hypothermia without unconsciousness.

Don't know if there's must be unconsciousness before death by hyperthermia, but that you cannot warm up sitting by campfire fully clothed (even with balaclava and gloves) and dry isn't right.
