-Filled barrel with items and closed lid
-Came back 5 min later to pull ammo out and barrel gone
-No one else on the server
-Possible glitched under terrain

-Not sure has only happened once so far however when you throw items sometimes they hit the ground and disappear

I had this happen previously as well. I placed a barrel and came back because I decided to leave one more bit of gear only to find it had disappeared entirely. I raided another person's barrel and the act of getting into it caused it to disappear entirely a few minutes later when I returned to leave a note.
