Server Rules/DayZ TOS
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

There are a few servers out there that are trading in game items for donations. Isn't this against the DayZ TOS?

Where do I find exactly what we can and cannot do as server owners concerning in game items and other things server owners shouldn't be doing?

Why are certain server owners getting away with selling in game items, having dodgy server names or the like when it's clearly against the DayZ TOS? {F32339}

Additional Information

I am a server owner who feels slighted because of other server owners not following the DayZ TOS and running their servers properly, doing dodgy things to boost population, or monetizing in game content. I do not do any of this and would like to see these servers clamped down on or shutdown all together.

pipsi.net is one of these server owners that clearly is selling in game content for donations. How are they getting this in game content? Duping maybe?

Anyway... I'm looking for a clear concise server owner TOS because I for one am tired of seeing these kinds of servers get away with certain things that are clearly dodgy and shold not be done.

Hi JMan,

"Selling" items for donations is not accepted and is basically the same as having a loot shop running. If you have any info/evidence that some server admins are conducting this type of behavior, please do send it across to us so that we can investigate and take action.

Thanks,
JStewart

Not sure what info you need. Can you specify?

I thought selling of in game gear was against the TOS of DayZ. I thought monetizing DayZ was against the TOS?
I thought particular server naming conventions were against the TOS.

Yet all this stuff is happening without any kind of policing. I come here and report(afaik) a clear breach of the TOS, yet it seems nothing is being done about it.

Thanks for sending in the extra info, as always we'll investigate and take appropriate action. Please appreciate, that at the time you reported the servers in focus, there were no info in terms of ip/port numbers or websites where we could investigate.

Regards,
JStewart
