Zombie sound directions are too vauge. I had no problem with locating a sounds direction in any other game i played with this headset and settings but in DayZ SA there is no way telling where a sound comes from. And to pinpoint the source i use the trick, turning the character around. But in DayZ, a zombie starts grunting on my left, (sound coming from left headphone - correctly) i turn 180 degrees around, as sound keeps going and sound is still on my left headphone, doesn't switch to the right as it should. It makes me dizzy after a while. I understand sounds are to be fixed, try not to bother with the sounds of ghosts splitting bullets, or trees eating tactical bacon. But this one needs to be fixed, it really causes pain and limits my playing time.

- Put on headphones
- Spot a Zombie
- turn your left(or right doesn't matter) side to it.
- Wait for a (preferably long) grunt or moan
- As that sound clip is going on immediately turn to your back, leaving zombie at your opposite side
- Sound clip stays on the same side of you, (and if it grunts again as you turn, those sound clips will play on the correct side, making you think you are surrounded by zombies)
Event Timeline
Hello QuarionLiadon.
In the scenario when zombie is coming from left side and you can hear it coming from the left, when you turn 180 degrees do you keep looking towards the left side (through alt) ?
Regards,
Geez
No. I turn until zombie is completely at my right side, and I don't use alt. Sound clips started after i turn completely comes from the correct direction, but sound clips started before i turn around keeps coming from the same headphone, as if zombie is orbiting me as i turn or as if there are zombies everywhere.
Just paid more attention to this thing. Gunshot sound direction seems to be okay. But zombie sounds are really bad. And in addition to what i said before, sometimes a zombie plays a second (or third, maybe even forth) sound clip (with a really different voice) before the previous sound clip ends so makes you think there are more then one zombies charging you. One time, after i fired a shot 3 zombies charged me and they've sounded like there is a horde after me.
I think as a survival simulator sounds are really important in DayZ and shouldn't confuse players.
