consistent, severe, cyclical frame drops
Assigned, WishlistPublic

Description

At 10pm Eastern (US) July 28th, on the South-central and Central .58 exp servers, I kept getting cyclical (every 15 sec or so) FPS drops everywhere I went (including far north near Berezhki). I get random drops from 60-70 to 1 about every 10-15 seconds. In town I get the usual 13 fps but with the new 10-15 second intermittent drops to 1.

10-25 people on the servers. Areas could have avg loot or no loot and the problem persisted.

Got this, too. I think it is the realease of memory on the windows swap file. This causes a long time with harddisk i/o and causes for me even a completely halt of the client. I need to run an external memory cleaner trying to avoid this.
For computers with enough memory the client should not use the swapfile at all, once it will be 64-bit. It is really time to optionally use the 64 bit architecture. I hope this comes in Beta.
-----------------------------------------Edit:
This helped me:
Not that bad after having swap file size managed by windows automatically. Before I had fixed 16 GB. FYI playing on experimental.

[Aug. 1st 12:14AM EST] I played exp for the first time since the 28th. It was in the evening of July 31st. I am in the far north and fps drops no longer seem to be an issue. Have not tested it in the city yet.

Same thing happens to me, on stable and exp. fps intermittently drops down to 1

severe framrate issues every few seconds, seems to have something to do with texture loading, going to very low textures and no filtering makes the frame drops shorter, but still very noticeable
