Memory Related Crash
Acknowledged, WishlistPublic

Description

Since 0.54 and till this patch (and exp 0.58) I have been experiencing memory issues where DayZ uses up an abnormally large amount of memory causing memory related issues. This is fixed if I use the Samsung Magician to optimize the windows drive (not where DayZ is installed) to maximum performance which gives a large amount of virtual memory, enough so I do not encounter the memory issue.

This is especially irritating because this is occurring in stable builds. {F32232}

Hello abasees.
Please attach contents of your C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Local\DayZ to this ticket so we can determine what is the cause. In case the files cannot be uploaded due to size, upload them to some kind of could site from which we can download the files. Also if you are using any kind of startup parameters, try removing them as we do not support them anymore and they cause various issues within the game.

Geez

Hi Geez,
I haven't played with startup parameters since a couple of patches ago. I have uploaded as you asked (See DayZ_Requested). This morning I decreased the virtual memory by using the maximum capacity optimisation of my C: drive SSD (which windows is installed on), after removing DayZ last night and re-installing it. This issue is still there however.

Speaking to another player, they suggested I check possible driver issues. I'm curious though as to how windows says I'm running low on memory when I had used up 5.7GB of my 8GB of RAM -- http://puu.sh/j9hpm/cb12ed428b.png

When this occur windows forcefully shut down google chrome.

In addition I have also upload the DayZ folder which contains my Dayz Settings.

Here are the error windows produced in the order they come --

1st error - http://puu.sh/j9jGx/b7c430668d.png

2nd error - http://puu.sh/j9k33/1e56ea7700.png

at the time of the 3rd error here are the respective task manager screenshots --

DayZ is clearly running at 1.5GB of my RAM, which is more than most other games I play, CSGO and smite being the reference. I was able to reproduce this errors by opening 30 tabs in chrome and having both CSGO and Smite open. I am currently investigating memory leaks with drivers to see what I can find, as this could be non-DayZ related now.

In the previous patches, it would eventually crashed my DayZ with the error message about memory referencing at some sequence couldn't be found or something (similar to the one I get after closing current DayZ Experimental). I'm unsure how long it takes for this to occur in the current DayZ and will test it later on.

Thanks for the update Geez, do you guys have a rough idea of what may be causing this?

Hello abasees.
I personally do not have the information, however I am going to post here once I know more or the issue is fixed.

Geez

I have just installed windows 10 today. I will (after sleep) test out if this issue is persistent in the new OS.

I tested on windows 10, (on a clean install). The problem persisted.

if move or delete this files in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\BattlEye\
and move or delete this file C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DayZ\BattlEye\

run in game go into menu then exit - result no error
if i try to connect game server - result battleye initialization failed

i think this is battleye problem...
