The description issue has been confirmed and scheduled for a fix. As for the reading issue, the books can be read by putting them onto quickbar and then pressing the correct quickbar hotkey.

Oh so dumb of me I didn't remember how to read them, even tough this is sure not a very important matter, I just thought it could not harm to point it out. Adding a new screenshot on other book, this one's description looks pretty weird to me, maybe it has typing errors?
