i was literally told that it was an in game feature that was working as intended...how the hell is not being able to fish intended when you have improvised hooks and actual hooks you cannot put on a rod? how am i supposed to catch fish without a bottle? dont tell me its intended when clearly its not

Did you have a worm attached to the hook? The hook cannot be attached to the improvised fishing rod without the worm.

As Geez said you need to create a fishing bait or a bone fishing bait by attaching a worm to the hook. Meanwhile you can attach the hook to a boonie hat to save the inventory slot.
