When I carry a weapon in my backpack, and put it as a hot bar item, if I use the weapon it goes to my hand but the master copy does not stay in the pack. So if I pick up something and it uses a part of the weapon slots in my pack, the gun gets dropped and in most case lost unless you remember where you had it last in pack. I think this also happens with other items that are larger then 1 slot
