With a SKS in hand, climbed deer stand ladder. Gun disappeared when starting climb animation. Does not appear in inventory.

Also duplicated with AK74 and Trumpet.

Same happened to me climbing down a ladder. Winchester rifle in hands which disappeared when ladder animation started. Also happened with a long stick in hands when trying to bandage. Long stick disappeared.
