The game crashes to desktop regularly since 0.57
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

The game crashed already several times in less than an hour, since 0.57.
The first time, it was scrolling the map. Another time, it was drinking water at a wells.
Each time, I heard a 'beep' (Windows error dialog opening) and the image froze for few seconds before going back to desktop.

Have same Issue in experimental. It is a memory access violation at 0067D88C. I've uploaded the dump-files.

hope it is resolved soon.

EDIT:
I have Windows 7 x64 SP1 / ATI HD5800 Series 1024MB / i5-750 4x2,67Ghz. All driver up-to-date.

It has to be the well known memory problem you experienced. Try this, it is a nice workaround, which absolutely worked (for me at least):

"My system has 8 GB of RAM and I had a swapfile of 1.0 GB in total. After increasing it to a - non-reasonable value - of 8 GB, DayZ does not crash anymore.

I believe it's a bug that DayZ, which is still a 32 Bit application, can somehow gather more than 4 GB of Ram from the system.

To circumvent, just temporarily increase your systems swap file so that you have at least 9 or 10 GB of (virtual) RAM."

Since the 0.57.128035 update, I don't have the issue anymore.
