Cannot start or play DayZ in experimental (0.56) or stable (0.55)
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

DayZ gives me this error "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item." when I try to run DayZ. It gives me this even if I run it through steam, GeForce Experience, (in DayZ's folder) DayZ and DayZ_BE. I tried validating my game files, restarting my PC, running DayZ (all ways to run it) and Steam as administrator. I tried downloading BattleEye from the website and run it. I tried downloading vcredlists. I tried re installing DayZ to my mechanical drive and then back onto my SSD. I tried updating to experimental and back to stable trying to run it on both. I tried setting my PC back a couple of days. I tired everything I could find on google about this problem. Everything listed above provided no solution and I got the same error. Please help.

Do you have any programs such as Razer Synapse? It can cause the anti-cheat to have issues. I, and Nilwick have experienced this issue. If you don't have any programs like it, you should do what everyone else says.
1)Give yourself adequate permissions(full control) in: Dayz_BE.exe & DayZ.exe>Properties>Security.
2)Run Steam as Admin.

Try to run that game after that. If it doesn't work try to reinstall BattlEye.

Hello KingJimmy.
In case you are encountering issues with BattlEye, please contact BattlEye support directly at http://www.battleye.com/support and provide them with as much information as possible so your issue can be resolved. Also, other users reporting this issue had this occur with Razer Synapse installed, in case you are using it, uninstalling the program could resolve the issue.

Geez
