Also when you eat with a weapon or item in your hands the weapon or item is removed from hotbar

You are correct M4Z TeR

Had rifle in hands, came to a guard tower, clicked middle mouse button to select "climb" rifle removed from hotbar.

I believe this was already acknowledged before, it's a popular issue
