Animal steaks do not show as raw or cooked. After cooking the color changes until it cools off then its status is unknown.

Quarter an animal. Cook and wait until it's cooled.

Hello kungfubeer and thank you for the report.
This is a design choice, currently all states of meat will still have the same name and the way to indicate whether the meat is cooked or not is to look at its model, from which it should be clear whether the meat is cooked, raw or burnt.
