Sometimes it is not possible to pick an item in order the get them into your inventory or to put it on your body.

Workaround for Item you can hold in your hand:
Empty your hand and take that item you want in your hand. Afterwards just drop it and it will appear to your inventory if there is enough space.

This does not work for items which you can not pick up and hold.
