I picked up an sks then found a can of spray paint. I dragged the spray paint onto the gun and painted it and a painted gun appeared on the ground and I still had my unpainted gun. I was able to double carry and had both when I logged out and in.

I tried this again and when I dropped the painted gun(dupe) it disappeared and I was unable to re-dupe the unpainted gun in a similar way

We have tested this thoroughly but unfortunately we were unable to reproduce the issue you have described. This issue could have been caused by the various desync problems of which we are aware and they have been scheduled for a fix.
