This just happened to me as well. Other things also disappeared.
-Stones disappeared from the oven, leaving only the fireplace.
-Other items disappear from the fireplace/oven.
-Yesterday two protector cases disappeared from my vest after logging out and in again.
Are the DayZ gods telling me that I have too much stuff? :D

I posted this issue. The gas containers also disappear from mountain backpacks. You don't even have to have a server restart. Just wait 15 minutes or so and they are gone.

We have tested this thoroughly and unfortunately we were unable to reproduce the issue you have described. Please retest this once next patch hits Steam and report back to us in case the issue is present on there too.
