I dropped loot while I was in the pine tree, and I could not access it to pick it up, so I had to find a hatchet in the nearest village, go back, cut down the tree, and then I could access the loot.

Still getting this issue in 1.0
Place an item in a tree, you can't get it. Even if you chop the tree down there is a chance the tree still is in the way.
I press inventory and item does not display.
Lost my car keys in a tree, now the keys are floating and the car is lost.
