Always high ping,.. ALWAYS
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

My Ping is normally about 50-60 in TeamSpeak or other games.
In DayZ, it is jumping between 200-999 all the time with no reason.
There is no other network activity, just DayZ and Windows stuff.

My download speed is 100 Kbit/s and upload speed is 0.13 kbit/s.

I know it is not that much but it was working fine in the first month of the game between january 2014 and may 2014, after may 2014 it became worser and worser.

Any solution? It is not possible to play this game for me so please help me!

You just need better internet

in case you got wifi, try connecting your pc to the router with a cable
bad signal quality can cause packet loss and high pings

Hi -GER- Tombo,

Do you by any chance have some kind of software that can monitor the data traffic on your connection?

Regards,
JStewart

Yes, I own the "Game First" software by ASUS

When you use it, does it detect any excess amounts of data while playing DayZ?

I dont really know what you mean, but there is only DayZ running, Kaspersky is mostly shut down because it has a high network activity.

No Chrome, Firefox etc. is running.

When I play DayZ the max. of download is about 0,1 MBit/s, but the upload is between 0,08 and 0,14 so its close to my maximum upload speed

Then there's probably not much we can do in this instance I'm afraid. 100 Kbit/s down and 0.13 kbit/s is not terribly much, so in this case it looks like the bottleneck here is the connection itself.
