After installing patch 0.54 the game has started to randomly crash, displaying an Application Error message
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

After the installation of patch 0.54 stable Dayz has started to crash randomly every now and then (more or less every hour). The application closes and I receive the message:
"DayZ.exe - Application Error
The instruction at 0x73b05571 referenced memory at 0x436ec048. The memory could not be read.
Click on OK to terminate the program"

As a side note: this has started today and never happened before (I installed the game on day one).

Hello Holt and thank you for the report.
There are couple of things we can suggest to you for now:

  • Remove all launch parameters from the game. The parameters are not supported and seem to cause various issues.
  • Delete contents of C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\BattlEye.
  • Verify data on Steam.

Please report back whether that has made any difference and if the issue still persists, run the game with -dologs parameter and attach contents of C:\Users\*USERNAME*\AppData\Local\DayZ to this ticket when the error pops up again.

Regards,
Geez

Hi Geez,

I did as indicated:

  1. Checked to have no launch parameters (never used any so far)
  2. Done
  3. Done

But the problem persisted.

I tried to run the game with -dologs but if I do so I get the following message when I enter a server and the game crashes, so I had to remove it:

"Cannot open file 'C:\Users\myuser\AppData\Local\DayZ\tmp\_cur_mp.ebo'"

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Hello Holt.
By any chance, did you connect to a server from Multiplay GSP? It seems that their servers crash clients with -dologs parameter.

Geez

Hi Geez,

I think that was the issue. I tried with a different server and it worked (though I am not sure if it actually was a server from Multiplay GSP, but must have been so).

Game still crashes though. Attached the log files, as indicated.

Thanks,
Holt

We need a hotfix, now, If you Devs want us to have as testers ;)

I wanted to say something:

you devs are waisting a ton of time in searching this error just because you are asking "need more info".

You can find this error within 1 hour. JUST PLAY YOURSELF a bit ...
