I was able to play game pretty well in 0.53 update. Since then, I had no problems with my FPS. After installation of 0.54, I went to Zelengorsk and had MASSIVE FPS drop. Also other people are complaining of loss of frames after version 0.54

Seems like update got us some problems. I can run DayZ quite well, Normal/Low settings and got stable 25 frames. After this update game is unplayable in towns because it gives you 2 frames per second.

I have the same issue now. 5 minutes into the game, my fps drops from 60 to under 10 and then just stays there and it's impossible to play like this. And for me, it is not even in towns, but just running across a field.

A solution I finally found that worked was to make sure that you have your launch option all removed by going into your steam library> Right clicking on DayZ> properties> set launch options> then delete everything in that box and click ok. Also, if you have manually edited your dayz cfg files at all, exit the game and then go my documents and delete the folder titled DayZ. When you start the game back up DayZ will create new cfg files. After doing so you may have to change your settings back to what you prefer as they may have been set back to default.... hope this helps

We are aware of this issue #0017013 and it has been scheduled for a fix.
Also if you are using any launch parameters for dayz, please remove them as they are not supported and seem to break the game.
