Failed to install Battleye service
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

I've played DayZ over 200 hours without problems. Two months ago I played with my friends before going to sleep. Next day I started playing and this problem/error came. I have tried every solution I've found from the Internet but none of them have worked.

Everytime I launch DayZ standalone via Steam or the DayZ folder, the EULA thing pops up and asks for permission, I grant it, then cmd comes and it says " Installing battleye service" " Failed to install battleye service ". I have uploaded a video into youtube about this problem.

What I've tried so far:

  • I've Launched Steam as an admin
  • I've put UAC to the lowest possible (Never notify me...)
  • I've downloaded and replaced the Battleye client
  • I've reinstalled the game multiple times
  • I've verified the game cache multiple times
  • I've launched the DayZ.exe and DayZ_BE as an admin
  • I've used the CCleaner to clean the PC's registry etc after uninstalls
  • I've deleted the Battleye folder located in Local/Appdata/DayZ
  • I've allowed DayZ.exe and DayZ_BE trough Firewall
  • I've disabled my Antivirus and Firewall

I haven't tried reinstalling Windows yet, because I have a 2 yer free version of Win 7 Professional and I'm afraid that If I uninstall this Windows, I would have to buy a new one.

Hello Kusileuka and thank you for the report.
I suggest you to try deleting BattlEye folder in your program files. It should be located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\BattlEye. Please report back if that fixes anything or if the problem persists.
Regards,
Geez

Hello Geez and thank you for replying. :)

I didn't have Battleye folder in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files folder.
The only Battleye folder I have, according to my (C:) search, is in the game folder.

Hello Kusileuka.
We have been looking into possible solution for you and we came up with this.
Go into windows and search for regedit.exe. Run regedit.exe and select "Edit" menu at the top left corner, in there, use the "find" feature and look for "BEService" folder. Once you find it, right click it and delete it. That should force Battleye to reinstall once you start up the game again. Please test this and report back if this has worked.
Regards,
Geez

Hi Geez!

I did what you suggested and it didn't help. :(
