Anytime you find one of the new compasses, it does not show up in the Vicinity space of the inventory UI. You may only pick it up by looking at the model and using the scroll menu to select take item.

Steps To Reproduce
Find one of the new compasses in the world.
Open Inventory.
Observe the vicinity space of the UI, the compass does not appear.

Unfortunately we were unable to reproduce this issue.This might be a lootspawn problem, rather than problem of the item itself.Could you please post screenshot/video/location if you encounter this issue again?

It is, its a loot spawn issue. I believe this is caused by the same thing that the Lantern is plagued with. Many of the situations where it is placed on the ground, its very difficult to get it to show in vicinity, where as some positions it shows right up.
