Since the update the game crashes also randomly.

I also cannot load the standalone from steam. It flashes syncing next to the title in library and then does nothing. I have tried all of the above in attempt to fix.

What I get when I press "play" in steam:

DayZ: DayZ.exe Application Error

This all started today 2/19/15 I assume after the update.

Cant play either, tried reinstalling.

This has also been happening to me. Here is the extent of what I tried to get it to launch properly (with no success):

-Restarted computer
-Updated AMD video drivers
-Added the nosplash and skipintro start params to Steam
-Checked integrity of RAM - it was good.
-Uninstalled video drivers and re-installed
-Ran Dayz from program filesx86/steam/steamapps/common directly
-Ran DayZ as admin
-Opted into unstable and back (Got a different but similar error message when I did this, didn't write it down though)

-Verified integrity of game cache through Steam
-Ran all DayZ files and executable as admin simultaneously
-closed all additional programs
-Deleted the game off Steam as well as all remaining files in the directory.
-Deleted all older versions of AMD video drivers
-Slightly upped GPU and CPU speeds through BIOS
-Deleted and re-installed chipset drivers

Using windows 7 w/ 2gb AMD card, i7 3.6ghz cpu, 16gb RAM

Okay I was able to start the game by going into program files and opening dayz.exe. But after joining a server battle eye tried to update and now DayZ wont open at all. I think there is something wrong with the dayz_be.exe or dayz.exe. I say this because for a brief second while battle eye was updating it said to launch dayz through steam or dayz_be.exe with launch parameters like 0 1 or something. So I think battle eye is the blame for this.

Hmm. Plausible. Not sure why it's affecting only a small group of people, though.

-edit- Deleting the BattleEye client and reacquiring it through verifying cache didn't do anything for me.

Reading through some other fixes, I tried to run DayZ from the D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\DayZ folder and received a "DayZ has stopped working" error. Problem details when expanded on are:

When you try to launch DayZ, do you get crash dumps (.rpt files for example) in your "C:\Users\<userame>\AppData\Local" folder?

I have uploaded the .rpt file that I have that was located in "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\DayZ"

What is the timestamp on the original .rpt file in your folder?

The only other thing I can add to this is that a friend has size on disk: 9,121,304,576 bytes of data contained in "<Install Drive>:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\DayZ" where as I have 9,201,242,112 bytes.

Timestamp was as of 2/19/2015 at 2:43pm Eastern Time (USA)

Alright, could you try packing the contents of your C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\DayZ into a .rar archive and attaching it here please?

Also, please attach a dxdiag report to your ticket:

1. Open the Start menu
2. Write "dxdiag"
3. Press enter
4. A window will open
5. Click "Save all information"
6. You will get a text file - that's what we need

Hello Devs. I was able to get standalone working on one machine but not the other.

Just an update to this ticket. I saw that Eugene had posted on twitter about an incoming client side patch. I verified game cache and the issue seems to be fixed. Thanks for the help and you can close the ticket.

pain do you think that migh fix mine... i want to play the game but noone is helping me

You can try to validate the integrity of game files by right clicking DayZ within steam and going to properties.
On the new window that opens within Steam goto the Local Files tab and click Verify integrity of game.

That resolved it today after Eugene said on twitter a new client side update was rolling out. I tried this fix previously and it hadnt worked. Good luck.

dud i havent played since the last update with new guns and stuff and i miss playing dayz... i even re installed windows and everything and changed the antivirus

Try this:

I HAVE FIXED IT!

I went into C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\ and deleted the BattlEye folder.

Next I disabled my Anti Virus and Firewall.
I couldn't turn off windows firewall so I added a rule for DayZ_BE.exe and allowed all connections.

Now I can start DayZ and BattlEye installs and the game works!

still it did not work for me and same error

i deleted battleye and it open but then it sayd battleye failed and then installed it and back to the same error

I managed to resolve the issue. Used the new patch that Eugen mentioned on twitter and it fixed my stable and experimental launching issues.
