I updated Dayz a few days ago and I hadn't been online in a while. Now every single time I join a game, my character is reset and all my progress from the previous session is lost. Every single time. Please help me fix this. Thanks.

For me - not every time. But wipes become pretty regular.
I struggle one wipe per 5-7 hours of playing.

I'd add a little bit of specification - my character also always resets, but it happens only:
- if I'm logged in the server during the restart!
- if I log out before the server restart and later log in, my character stays intact.
I was able to replicate this many times, always the same - you stay logged in during server restart=character wipe.

Thank you for sending us your feedback regarding this issue. Unfortunately, this problem is a known issue that has previously been reported. The devs are aware of the problem related to character save loss and they'll be working on fixing it.
In order to minimize the risk of losing your gear after a server restart, it is recommended that you wait until a couple of minutes have passed by according to the time on the restarted server before reconnecting with your character.
