After downloading the most recent update, my dayZ will no longer start. I had played the game the day before and everything was fine. I downloaded the update and attempted to open the game only to have nothing happen. I double click the game, my steam status is changed to "In game: Day Z" for 6-7 seconds (nothing else happens) and then my steam status reverts to "online". Reinstalled the game, verified the integrity of the cache, and still the same issue.

Hi and sorry about your trouble.
Please try the following:
- launching Steam and the game as Administrator
- launching the game with different parameters as described here (http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/203970-resolution-problems-read-here-before-posting/) - you can also try changing the windowed parameter in the .cfg file to 1 and launching the game
- ensure that your drivers, especially for graphics card are up to date.
If neither helps, please attach the contents of your AppData folder (C:\Users\<Name>\AppData\Local\DayZ\) to the ticket
Thanks,
Andy
I'm on windows 8.1. I get to C/users/name/ and don't see an appdata folder.
Launching steam as admin worked fine.
Launching dayZ.exe as admin I received an error that "msvcp120.dll" is missing from my computer and I should reinstall.
However, one of things I tried before submitting the ticket was deleting and reinstalling the game. I had also previously verified the cache.
However, I just checked this ticket: http://feedback.dayzgame.com/view.php?id=21209&nbn=9#bugnotes
It looks like you guys figured this out, I went into steam (after opening as admin) and pressed play from the steam library. the game downloaded a microsoft vc redistribution package or something, and opened fine.
So far, it appears this issue is fixed on my end, but figured I should provide feedback to help out.
Happy to hear that! Thank you for your feedback as well, much appreciated.
Regards,
Andy
