Everytime I want to play DayZ, I just join a random Server. For 20 minutes everything works just fine, but then suddenly DayZ and Steam crash (without a error message). Last Time I played, I managed to see the Steam Overlay isn't working after 20 minutes in game, the I tabbed out to see why. I've seen that Steam has crashed in the background while playing DayZ. The I continued playing (without reopening Steam). I played for 2 minutes and than DayZ also crashed. I tried it with reopening Steam, but there was no difference. I've tried it like 15 times and on different servers now, but it's always the same.

This has nothing to do with Dayz. Its a steam problem.
Try rename the file steamservice.exe located in steam folder. There is two of them on my computer. This solves the problem on Windows 10.

Renaming the file steamservice.exe located in steam folder doesnt work for me.
Creating a new local user with admin rights and set the steam client service to log on with this account does work.

Ok just deleted the 2nd SteamService.exe file in the common folder. Everythings fine now. Just played 5 hours without any crash and problem with Steam or DayZ.
Comment Actions
- Created a new local user called steamservice,
- gave it a complex password and put it in the Administrators Group,
- open services.msc and find the Steam Client Service,
- Right-click and open properties,
- Choose Log On tab then This Account and click Browse,
- type in the new steamservice user then check names, ok,
- type in the password then hit ok.
This fixes the issue.
It is an issue with Windows 10 and not the game.
