Failed to launch the application.

Hello!

When I'm hitting once "play" button, my status on Steam becomes green (like it should be) then after few seconds back to blue (just "online") instead of launching the game. The application doesn't run, the processes doesn't appears (checked in task manager). There was no issues two weeks ago.

Additional Information

I don't know if it is usefull - I've selected to experimental version, files has updated, then I've selected back to "normal" version of this game. Oh, I must add that even reinstalling the application can't fix the issue.

Hi,

It seems like DayZ might be crashing on launch. Would it be possible for you to attach the contents of your C:\users\<username>\Documents\DayZ folder as well as a dxdiag report please?

Several days ago I've logged into my Steam account on my friend's PC and launched DayZ. Game was working perfectly.

I'd like to ask how much time might takes getting solution.

Hey WindowsUser and sorry for the delay (holidays).
Please try doing the following:

  • making sure that your drivers, especially graphics card, are up to date
  • run both Steam and the game as Administrator
  • verify the game data (Steam Library - Rightclick on DayZ - Properties - Local Files - Verify integrity of game cache)
  • launch the game with certain parameters: Locate the .cfg file here: C:\Users\MyUser\Documents\DayZ\DayZ.cfg and open it with wordpad or similar. Change the resolution values: Resolution_W=1920 Resolution_H=1080 Change the windowed parameter: Windowed=1;

Save the changes and try launching the game.

Apologies, I have asked you for the contents of the wrong folder here. Could you attach the contents of your C:\Users\<userame>\AppData\Local\DayZ folder instead, please?
